Between my husband who welds for a living (nasty job) and a 6 year old son who mucks and goms all over the place, I have lots of nasty stains. Oh, and yes….I DID just say muck and gom
! That’s what my mom always called it when I was making a mess. With Dale being a welder, you can imagine how nasty his work clothes are. They’re usually always coal black and reek of weld smoke so it’s difficult to get most of the stains and smell out.
I’ve always used Purex because it’s affordable AND goes above and beyond the call of duty. They’re always bringing out new varieties and I recently received a bottle of Purex plus Oxi detergent with Zout Stain Remover. I love that it has the stain remover in it because then I don’t have to worry about buying or using a stain treatment spray! I love to multi-task
!
I washed a load of Dale’s workclothes and this shirt was filthy with black smoke. Before starting the wash, I pre-treated with the detergent and used the directions on the back of the bottle. I just poured some on and then rubbed it in and let it sit for 5 minutes before adding it to the washer. I was shocked when it came out as clean as it did. Granted, the longer you let stains sit the harder it is to get them out, so I washed this as soon as he took it off. Here are before/after pictures.
Right now, Purex has a $1000 sweepstakes going on but HURRY to enter, as it ends 11/30/12!! Also, they’ve been kind enough to offer 3 lucky readers a full size bottle of their own! Just use the form below to enter. This form is the new PromoSimple Giveaway form…similar to Rafflecopter.
Update: The giveaway has now ended and the 3 winner’s will be announced once drawn. You can find the winners on the Winners List.
Disclosure – I received a full size bottle of Purex because I’m a Purex Insider. All opinions are 100% my own, and honest as always.
