My hair is so fine that I have a hard time getting it to keep any kind of style so normally I just straighten it to keep it sleek looking instead of just stringy looking. I’ve never really used any kind of protectant on it to keep it from getting scorched from the heat of the straightener.
Another issue I have with my hair because it’s so fine is that it’s always super flat with NO volume!! I’m always buying the “volumizing” shampoo and other products to get it to have a wee bit more body.
I was recently introduced to the Not Your Mother’s Brand of hair care products. They have a whole line dedicated to the issues that we all struggle with. I tried out their Beat the Heat Thermal Shield Spray and the Girl Powder Volumizing Hair Powder. I tried the Beat the Heat Thermal Shield Spray first and it made my hair feel SUPER soft after it was straightened. It smells yummy too….it’s infused with Sunflower & Vitamins A and E.
The Girl Powder Volumizing Hair Powder worked wonders for me. It only takes a small amount to get alot of volume. I just shook a little out close to my roots and then used my fingertips to sort of massage it in at the scalp. My hairstyle stayed full of volume for quite some time but my hair again, is very fine. If your hair is full, thick, or heavy then you might need to reapply halfway through the day to keep it styled the way you like.
