Walgreens is one of my favorite places to shop because they’ve always offered such a great rewards program. They have added a new Walgreens Rewards program called Balance Rewards which offers customers “points” for certain things they buy. The accumulated points can be redeemed for cash to use on purchases. For an example, 5,000 Balance Rewards points equals $5 in cash!!
You can sign up for the new #BalanceRewards Loyalty Card instore, online, or via the Walgreens app. I actually signed up using the app which was very easy and fun to do. I just downloaded the app and installed it on my android phone. It’s available for iPhone, Android, and Blackberry.
Signing up for the Balance Rewards program was quick. After you download the app, just go inside it and click on the “Rewards” icon as pictured above. You’ll be asked if you already have a Walgreens account. If so, just say yes…sign in, and you’re done. If not, you’ll need to enter your email address, name, physical address, and phone number. I just entered my information and then BAM…I have my own Loyalty Card on my phone. I can view the points I’ve accumulated and any of my activity. There are alot of features on the Walgreens app. You can take care of your prescriptions, order photos, get coupons, view the weekly ad, use the store locator, and even shop…all straight from the app!
While playing with the app, I found that if I ordered $25 worth of products I could get FREE shipping! There are a few household types of things that I like to buy online, just because it’s easier and sometimes cheaper – giving me the opportunity to stock up. I wound up grabbing some toilet paper and trashbags using the Walgreens app. I didn’t even have to leave the house, and it’ll be delivered straight to my door for FREE!
I found using the Walgreens app easy to shop from. I just used the “Search” feature for what I was looking for and everything was available right there, on my phone! The checkout process was simple! It wasn’t a fiasco like it normally is with other online shopping sites I’ve used or even other apps. It was just 1, 2, 3, and done! I entered my credit card information, shipping and billing info, and then went through a confirmation screen, and it was finished. I was given a confirmation number on the last page and was also instantly sent a confirmation email. My goodies will arrive in 2-5 days…thanks to my Walgreens Savings!
